CCA is a Christ-centered educational institution dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of students. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the financial health and integrity of our school’s operations while maintaining a commitment to biblical values in all our work.

Job Summary:
As the Bookkeeper for CCA, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, managing accounts payable and receivable budgeting, cash flow, and ensuring compliance with school policies and relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping or accounting, a strong understanding of financial management, and a passion for serving in a Christian environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, manage payments, and ensure timely collection of tuition and fees from parents.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the school administration and board of governors.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
  • Payroll: Process payroll for staff and faculty, including tax filings and benefits. 
  • Budget Assistance: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure the school remains within budgetary constraints.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and school policies.
  • Tax Preparation: Assist with HST Rebate filings and charity returns, including T4s, charitable tax receipts and support the school’s annual financial review process.
  • Communication: Provide friendly and professional customer service to staff, parents, and vendors, addressing any financial questions or concerns.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in accounting software SAGE and Microsoft Excel
  • Post-secondary education in business accounting and/or office administration is an asset.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with not for profit financial practices, and CRA regulations is a plus.
  • A personal commitment to Christian values and an understanding of the mission of CCA.  
  • Understand & fundamentally agree with the School’s Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith 
  • Sign a one-year contract.
